ALBERTA FRANKE-BORCK

Alberta C. Franke-Borck, 87, of Fremont died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

She was born March 20, 1922, in Hooper to Albert H. and Christine W. Haye Otteman. She was raised in Hooper and graduated from Hooper High School. She then attended Wayne State College and received her teaching certificate. She married Herbert Franke on Aug. 6, 1944, in Hooper. She taught school in Dodge and Washington counties. She also taught Sunday School at Fontanelle. They lived on the farm at Hooper, later moving to Fremont. They spent several years in Tempe, Ariz., before returning to Fremont. Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 23, 2002.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. She attended Fremont Friendship Center (formerly Fremont Senior Center) and participated in church activities.

Alberta was committed in marriage on June 17, 2007, at Estes Park, Colo., to Rudolph Borck.

Survivors include: her committed husband, Rudy Borck of Fremont; a daughter, Jeannine (and husband, Lynn) Moeller of Hooper; two sons, Wendell (and wife, Debra) Franke of Monson, Mass., and Timothy (and wife, Sandra) Franke of San Antonio; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rudy’s family includes: three daughters, Marva (and husband, Ron) Tonniges of Denver; Judy (and husband, Don) Berg of Dallas and Joy (and husband, Jim) Connors of Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Rod (and wife, Linda) Borck of Naperville, Ill., and Byron (and wife, Beth) Borck of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sister-in-law, Helen Franke of Fremont; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one of Rudy’s daughters.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Friday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and the Fremont Friendship Center (formerly Senior Center).
