Klaus Knutter, 54 (2 dots over the u in Knutter)

Services will be Friday, September 8 in Germany for Klaus Knutter, 54 of Bad Segeberg, Germany who died September 1, 1995 of a heart attack.

Klaus Knutter was born July 6, 1941. He and his family first visited Dana in the summer of 1988. Since that time he and his wife, Gisela (Miko) were instrumental in developing the strong ties that bind the Dana community, and Blair, with the city of Bad Segeberg.

He organized three interim home stays for Dana students; was a co-organizer of the summer internship in the Nebraska-Haus of Bad Segeberg for six students from Dana; co-hosted a number of visits from Blair community leaders to Bad Segeberg and co-hosted the Dana Chorale Tour this past spring. He also initiated and directed the first International Youth Camp in Bad Segeberg this past summer.

He served as Vize Burgermeister (2 dots over the u) of the city of Bad Segeberg and taught at Dana a couple years ago for one year.

Memorials may be directed toward the benefit of the children of Estonia, a cause he supported.
