Mertie Kobs, 80, died March 13, 1987, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services were held March 16 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl Schattauer, Jr., officiating.

Pallbearers were Ronald Merryweather; Kim Wollen; Lyle Kobs; Roy Kobs and Bruce Lighter. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Kobs was born December 11, 1906, in Bennington.

She married William Kobs, and they farmed their entire lives.

She is survived by her husband William, a son Gerald Kobs of Blair; by sister Roma Merryweather of Fremont, and by brothers Louis Wollen of Fremont and Bud Wollen of Haywood, California, by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
