Services are Tuesday, February 26 at First Lutheran Church in Blair for William August Kobs, Jr. who died February 23, 1991 in Blair. Rev. Kenneth Jensen with Good Shepherd will officiate. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

William August Kobs, Jr. was born September 8, 1905 in Bennington to William August Kobs, sr. and Atonia Polzer Kobs.

He married Mertie Wollen in 1927 in Bennington. She preceded him in death.

He farmed in the Bennington area for eight years before moving to the Fort Calhoun area where he farmed for 32 years. He retired in 1968.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blair.

He is survived by a son, Gerald Kobs of Blair; two brothers, George Kobs and Roy Kobs, both of Fort Calhoun; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gene Kobs, Brian Kobs, Steven Kobs, Lowell Kobs and John Kobs and Harry Schreckengast.

Honorary pallbearers will be Burt Spanton, Emmett Rogert, Leonard Wulf, Lloyd Brown, Charles Seltz and Otto Wenz.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.
