James Harold Ferguson, 76, of Omaha, died early on Friday morning, March 6, 1987, after a lengthy illness.

He was born on March 18, 1910, at Decatur to Cora Genevieve (Bucklin) and Benjamin Grant Ferguson. He was married to Florence Bradshaw on February 28, 1933, at Dakota City.

They farmed near Decatur for several years, prior to 1955, when the couple moved to Omaha, and James became employed with Wilson Foods in Omaha. Survivors include his wife, Florence Ferguson of Omaha; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Phelps of Omaha; two sons, Jon Ferguson of Buffalo, Minnesota and Joseph Ferguson of Omaha; seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 1987, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Chapel in Tekamah with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating.

Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur.
