A. Katherine Stone, 97, of Blair, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Services will be 19:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, in the chapel of Good Shepherd Home. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Exira (Iowa) Cemetery.

A. Katherine Stone was born May 11, 1905 in Brayton, Iowa to Chris and Marie (Birk) Hoegh. She attended school in Brayton and Oakfield.

On March 12, 1924, she married Albert Stone; he preceded her in death in 1942.

On Dec. 12, 1953, she married Orville Stone; he preceded her in death in 1969.

Mrs. Stone lived in Exira and Avoca, Iowa, Omaha, and Blair since the late 1970s. She worked as a salesperson and manager of the Mode O’Day dress shop in Omaha along with other stores.

She loved shopping for clothes, playing cards with her friends and cooking for her family. She was a past Matron of the Eastern Star and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Blair.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larrie and Norma Stone of Blair; three grandchildren and their spouses; eight grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and 19 step-grandchildren.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, James A. Stone.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home or to Dana College.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
