Plane Crash Kills Cadet

Bryce Mehrens, 21, Will Be Buried In Blair Cemetery On Sunday

Aviation Cadet Bryce Mehrens, 21, whose parents are former Blairites, was killed early this week in the crash of his plane in Arizona. He was stationed at an air field near Phoenix.

Cadet Mehrens’ parents are Milford Mehrens of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Donald Toots of Louisiana, the former LaFerne Toft. His grandmother is Mrs. Sophie Jensen of Long Beach, Calif. Preceding him in death were three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Mehrens and Hans Toft, all of Blair.

The body of the young flier will be brought to the Campbell Mortuary in Blair Saturday night. Funeral services are planned for Sunday, burial to follow in Blair Cemetery.

Surviving young Mehrens in addition to his parents and grandmother, are an uncle, Ansel Toft, and an aunt, Mrs. Sam Fraley, both of Blair.
