Blairite, Killed In Italy in 1945, To Be Buried In Rites On Sunday

Pfc. Roy T. Moore, Blairite, who met his death in Italy during the recent war, will come home tomorrow.

The body of the Blair war hero will arrive here Friday. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Campbell Mortuary, with burial following in Blair Cemetery.

Pfc. Moore, son of Mrs. Mary Moore and the late Hugh Moore was killed Mar. 16, 1945, at the age of 34. He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Jones; a son, Carl, 15, and two daughters, Phyllis, 12, and Linda, 6. Mrs. Moore lives at 211 East Park St.

Pfc. Roy Moore Is Killed In Action

Word has reached relatives that Pfc. Roy Moore, U.S. Army, was killed in action, somewhere in Italy, March 16th.

Pfc. Moore, who had made his home in Blair for several years, is survived by his wife, Gladys, and three children; his mother, Mrs. Mary Moore; and seven brothers, S. I., Sam, P. J., Ben, and Dan, of Blair, Pfc. Hugh of Denver, Colorado, and Enoch of Pender.

Pfc. Moore had been in the service fifteen months and had spent two and one-half months of that time in overseas duty.

Pfc. Roy Moore, 34, Died In Action In Italy During March

P.F.C. Roy Moore, 34-year-old Blair man and father of three children, was killed in action in Italy on March 16.

Surviving the soldier are his wife and children; his mother, Mrs. Mary Moore of Blair; and seven brothers, Sam, S. I., Dan, Ben, and P. J., of Blair; Enoch of Pender; and Pfc. Hugh Moore of Denver, Colo.
