Funeral services for Roscoe D. Osterman, 72, of Fremont, were held Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Interment was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Mr. Osterman died Thursday, Feb. 20, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Roscoe D. "Buzz" Osterman was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Arlington to Harry and Euphemia (Wolf) Osterman. He grew up in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School. He attended Boyles College for Telegraphy and was employed by the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 42 years as a telegrapher and clerk. He retired in 1992. He lived in Norfolk for 10 years, and moved to Fremont in 1965.

On Jan. 24, 1954, he married Beverly Marshall in Arlington.

Mr. Osterman was a member of the Arlington Community Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 of Fremont; and the Morse Code Club.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Michelle Osterman of Omaha; daughter, Lori Cheshier of Fremont; sister, Beverely Paulsen of Carroll, Iowa; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harry.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
