Gertrude L. Stork, 76 of Arlington, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Timothy Gierke officiated. Interment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Arlington.

Gertrude L. Stork was born on Oct. 31, 1923 in Arlington To Frederick and Louise (Stork) Stork.

She grew up in Arlington, and was a 1941 graduate of Arlington High School. She moved from her farm home into Arlington in 1969.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont; the Quilters and Tabitha Society at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; and was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Kay Stork of Arlington, and a niece, Erika (Mrs. Kraig) Kirchmann of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont or to the Arlington Rescue Squad.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

ARLINGTON -- The funeral for Gertrude L. Stork, 76 of Arlington will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.

She died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha.

Stork was born Oct. 31, 1923 in Arlington and grew up there. She was a 1941 graduate of Arlington High School. She moved from her farm home into Arlington in 1969.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Quilters and Tabitha Society at the church. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.

Survivors include a brother, Robert (and wife, Kay) Stork of Arlington; and a niece, Erika (Mrs. Kraig) Kirchmann of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick W. and Louise (Stork) Stork.

The Rev. Timothy Gierke will officiate Wednesday’s service. Visitation will be until 9 tonight at Reckmeyer-Moser Memorial Funeral Home in Arlington and will continue one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Arlington.

Memorials have been established to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Arlington Rescue Squad.

Pallbearers are Curtis Schmidt, Orvin Scheer, David and Jerome Sperling, Warren Scheer and Gene Fuchs.

Honorary pallbearers are Harris and Rupert Vogt, Elmer Stork and Dr. Louis Otto.
