HERBERT C. STORK, 96

Arlington native Herbert C. Stork, 96 of Lincoln, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004 at Eastmont Towers in Lincoln.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 15, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington. Interment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Herbert C. Stork was born Aug. 12, 1908 on the family farm north of Arlington to William and Anna “Louise” (Kroeger) Stork. He grew up on the farm and farmed with his parents until his marriage. He married Verna Blome on June 24, 1936 at Beemer.

The couple farmed near Arlington until retiring in 1974. They moved into Arlington, then moved to Lincoln in 1997.

He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Arlington, where he served on various boards and committees of the church.

In 1962, he received the Papio Soil and Water Conservation District Award for outstanding application of farm conservation measures, and was later elected to the governing board for the Papio District. Throughout his life, he was a member of many insurance assessment boards.

He is survived by his wife, Verna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene and Clarence Flagel and Lois and Darrell Ullman, all of Lincoln; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Walter and Edward Stork.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; Christ Lutheran Church of Lincoln; or The Lutheran Hour.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
