SERVICES FOR MARTIN STORK ARE TUESDAY

Martin W. Stork, 88 of Arlington, died Friday evening, October 1, at Arbor Manor in Fremont where he had lived since February. He was born January 14, 1894 on the family farm near Arlington. His father was Casper and his mother was Caroline (Lallman) Stork.

He was a lifelong resident of the community and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School. He was married on June 30, 1921 to Helena Laaker. They farmed north of Arlington for 39 years, and moved into Arlington in 1960. His wife died in September of 1977.

He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington, World War I veteran and served in 1918 and 1919. He was a member of the American Legion Post 71 of Arlington and had served as its commander for two years. He had been commander of the Washington County Legion for one year. He also had been superintendent of St. Paul’s Cemetery for 26 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Marlin (Gretchen) Wolf, Fremont; three sons: Floyd of Upland, California; Victor of Fremont; Norman of Arlington. Eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Arlington. Burial is in St. Paul’s Cemetery with military honors. A memorial fund has been established for the St. Paul’s Church.

Ludvigson Mortuary of Fremont is in charge of arrangements. Rev. Dennis Maasky of St. Paul’s will officiate.
