Robert F. Stork, 79 of Arlington, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007 at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Interment will be at the Fremon’t Memorial Cemetery with military honors conducted by members of the Arlington American Legion Post No. 71 and VFW Post No. 8332.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Robert F. Stork was born March 18, 1928 in Arrlington to Frederick W. and Louise (Stork) Stork. He lived his whole life in Arlington. He farmed in the Arlington area until retiring in 1997. He then worked for the Fremont Parks and Recreation Department for four or five years. Mr. Stork served in the Nebraska Army National Guarde from June 23, 1948, until June 22, 1954.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont; the Faternal Order of Eagles No. 200 in Fremont; the Arlington American Legion Post No. 71; and he played taps at funerals for at least 50 years.

On Sept. 6, 1969, he married Sharon “Kay” Jens at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. She survives him, as does his daughter and son-in-law, Erika and Kraig Kirchmann of Arlington; and two granddaughters.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church, Arlington Fire and Rescue Squad or the Arlington Public Library.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
