WILMA A STORK, 87

Wilma A. Stork, 87 of Arlington, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999 at her home. Services were Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. Rev. Dr. Michael L. Rogers officiated. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Wilma Stork was born on May 27, 1912 to henry and Anna (Hagerbaumer) Panning in Winslow. She grew up in rural Winslow and was a graduate of Hooper High School. She married Harvey C. Stork on January 4, 1942 in Hooper. The couple farmed near Arlington until retiring. They moved into Arlington in 1978. Her husband died in 1985.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the church choir, the quilting club and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was also a member of the Over 60 Center in Arlington and was a former extension club member.

She is survived by a son Lee Stork of Arlington; a daughter and son0in0law, Carolyn and David Herrmann of Arlington; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Donna Mae Stork; two sisters, Gertrude Munkelwitz an Mildreth Panning; and four brothers, Paul, Ottis, Gilbert, and Louie Panning.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Anna Elizabeth Stork, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Hagerbaumer) Panning, was born May 27, 1912 at rural Winslow, Nebraska. She grew up at rural Winslow and was a graduate of Hooper High School. She married Harvey C. Stork on January 4, 1942 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow. The couple farmed near Arlington most of their married life. They retired and moved into Arlington in 1978.

Wilma was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, the St. Paul’s Choir, the Quilting Club and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was a member of the Arlington Over 60 Center and a former extension club member.

Wilma passed from this life on Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at her home at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 8 days. She is survived by a son, Lee Stork of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and David Herrmann of Arlington; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died December 2, 1985; an infant daughter, Donna Mae Stork; 2 sisters, Gertrude Munkelwitz and Mildreth Panning; and 4 brothers: Paul, Ottis, Gilbert and Louie Panning.
