George E. “Bud” Koppit, Sr., 66

Services for George E. “Bud” Koppit, Sr., 66 are 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Omaha. Rev. Mark R. Shulz will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with military honors by Millard Veteran of Foreign Wars Post. No. 8334.

He was a graduate of South High School and a retired purchasing agent for Douglas County. A veteran, he was a member of VFW Post No. 8334 in Millard, American Legion Post No. 1 and Channel Cats No. 5 Cooties.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. and Bertha Koppit and a sister, Lydia Will.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Dr. G. John Flenker, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Cindy and Doug Smith, Lincoln; a son and daughter-in-law, George, Jr. and Janene Koppit, Blair; a sister, Clara Koppit; a brother, Earl Koppit and grandchildren, Nathan, Joshua and Carleigh Flenker; Melinda, Shawn and Katie Smith; Mitchell, Dustin and Anna Koppit.

Memorial may go to the Lutheran Home.

Crosby Burket Swanson-Golden Colonial Chapel in Omaha is in charge of arrangements.
