Services Held For Jerry Korshoj At Tekamah, Oct. 2

Services were held Thursday, Oct. 2, 1975 at Tekamah, Nebraska, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for Jerry Kent Korshoj with Fr. John Stears officiating and Fr. Wm. Borer celebrant. Interment was in Tekamah Cemetery.

Jerry was born January 17, 1948 at Blair, Nebraska, to Raymond and Patricia Dean Korshoj and died September 29, 1975, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha after a lingering illness. He was 27 years old.

He attended school in Tekamah through the 6th grade, then moved with his parents to Neligh, Nebraska and graduated from Neligh High School in 1966. He attended the University of Nebraska and was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. In 1968 he was stricken with multiple sclerosis and was confined to his home. In 1970 his parents moved to Ainsworth, Nebraska, where he resided until September 1972, then went to Eppley Care Center in Omaha where he lived until his death.

Pallbearers were Erik and Earl Korshoj, Greg and Gene Megrue, Kim and Leonard Jackson.

Besides his parents, who now live in Oakland, he is survived by one brother, Jim, of Portland, Oregon, two sisters, Kristy Maggiore of Taylor, Michigan, Karma Fields of Tilden, Nebr., 2 nieces, 2 nephews, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Korshoj of Herman, Nebr., and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kita and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Dean.

He was a nephew of Mrs. Gene Megrue of Blair.
