Raymond Korshoj, 67

Funeral services were Friday, September 21 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair for Raymond Korshoj, 67 who died September 18, 1990 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon where he was visiting his son and family. There was a rosary Thursday, September 20 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Galas officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Neils Raymond Korshoj was born December 17, 1922 at Blair to Chris and Esther Madsen Korshoj. He moved at an early age with his parents to Herman where he attended school. He graduated from Herman High School in 1940.

He married Patricia Dean on January 17, 1944 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah. Five children were born to this union.

He owned and operated the Standard Oil Tank Wagon in Tekamah for many years before he and his family moved to Neligh, Nebraska where they owned and operated Ray and Pat’s Steakhouse for a few years before moving to Oakland, Nebraska in 1974 when he retired. In 1982, they moved back to Tekamah where he resided at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry; a daughter, Kita; a granddaughter, Kalsi Maggiore; his father, Chris Korshoj; and his in-laws, Jim and Sarah Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Tekamah; a son, Jim and his wife, Patricia of Lake Oswego, Oregon; two daughters and their husbands, Kristy and Joe Maggiore, Omaha and Karma and Kenneth Fields of Shorewood, Minnesota; his mother, Esther Korshoj of Herman; two brothers, Senator Frank Korshoj of Herman and Earl Korshoj of Fremont; two sisters, Betty (Mrs. Gene) Magrue, Blair; and Marilyn (Mrs. Leonard) Jackson of Fremont; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
