LeRoy Spiker, age 76, died on Aug. 17 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Spiker was born to Cassius and Addie Spiker on October 21, 1911 in Herman. He farmed in the Spiker-Herman area all of his life. In June of 1939 he was united in marriage to Bernice Hugelman who preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at the Herman Legion Hall on Monday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Larry Orvis will officiate and interment will be in the Rose Hill cemetery in Orum. Pallbearers will be Harlan Petersen, Ivan Hovendick, Robert Rasmussen , Joe Cameron, Stan Hovendick and Clarence Christensen.

Mr. Spiker was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his wife. Survivors include his three sons, Richard of Nickerson, Bill of Riverside, California, and Ronald of Westminster, Colorado. He is also survived by two daughters, Jodeen McCourt of Webster Springs, West Virginia, and Gayle Conkling of Herman. He left behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Nellie Taylor of Blair.
