PAUL E. STRAND, 79

Paul E. Strand, 79, former Assistant Director of Development at Dana College, died at the Good Shepherd Home in Blair on Friday, Dec. 30, 1988.

Strand was born in Randers, Denmark on May 26, 1909 and as a child emigrated with his parents to Racine, Wi. After completing high school in Racine he became associated with Cooper Industries of Kenosha, Wi. in a sales position.

He also served for a short period as Director of Fraternal Affairs for the Danish Brotherhood in America in Omaha before joining the Dana College Development staff in 1964. He was named Assistant Director of Development at Dana in 1970 and retained that title until the time of his death.

Mr. Strand was married on July 1, 1934 in Seattle, Wa. to Lillian Nielsen, she preceded him in death in 1986. He is survived by one sister, Carla Zackman of Phoenix, Az. and one niece, Paula Wolf of Norridge, Il.

Memorial services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Blair at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 1989. Memorials may be directed to Dana College.
