ARLINGTON NEWS -- STRENGER RITES WERE MONDAY
Services for John Henry Bernard Strenger, 85, were Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Arlin Holtz officiating.
Mr. Strenger died Friday morning at his home, 1036 N. Clarkson. He was born Feb. 5, 1880 in Fontanelle. On June 13, 1906, he married Emma Hartung at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors are the widow, Emma; daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Scheer; son, Earl; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs. Amelia Wilkening of Blair and Mrs. Walter Siefert. One son, Donald, preceded him in death in 1948.
Mr. Strenger operated the Schaferman and Strenger Store at Telbasta for 15 years and farmed several years near Telbasta. He came to Fremont in 1944. For 26 years he was secretary of Concordia Mutual Insurance Co. in Arlington.
