MRS. COLE DIES AT 68

WIFE OF RETIRED RAILROAD MAN SUCCUMBS AFTER LONG ILLNESS

In poor health a number of years, Mrs. Nat W. Cole, 63, wife of a retired railroad bridge superintendent, died at 10:25 p.m. last Wednesday at Methodist hospital in Omaha. She had suffered a stroke earlier in the day at her home near Blair Cemetery.

The Rev. D. D. Kennedy, pastor of First Baptist Church, was in charge of funeral services held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Campbell Mortuary, and interment was in Blair Cemetery.

As Laura Anderson, Mrs. Cole was born April 24, 1874, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, and was married to Mr. Cole, September 26, 1895, at Missouri Valley, Iowa. They moved to Blair in 1899.

Surviving Mrs. Cole are her husband; one son, Calvin Cole of Omaha; Three sisters, Mrs. John Sheely of Adams, Wisconsin, Mrs. A. M. Murphy and Mrs. H N. Egstad of Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Other survivors include two grandchildren, Robert Cole of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Virginia of Omaha, and a great-grandson, Rodney H. Cole of Indianapolis.

Mrs. N. W. Cole Buried Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Nat W. Cole, who died Wednesday, September 9, were held Saturday afternoon, 2:00 p.m., at Campbell's Mortuary. Rev. D. D. Kennedy of the Blair Baptist Church officiated.

As Laura Anderson, Mrs. Cole was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, April 24, 1874. She was united in marriage to Nat W. Cole at Missouri Valley, Iowa, on September 26, 1895, and they moved to Blair late in March of 1899.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; a son, Calvin, of Omaha; two grandchildren, Robert of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Virginia of Omaha; a great grandson, Rodney H. Cole of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Mrs. John Sheely of Adams, Wisconsin, Mrs. A. M. Murphy and Mrs. H. N. Egstad of Lacrosse, Wisconsin.

Note: The death date on the Find a Grave record was 1 Sept. 1942. The news article said Wednesday, September 9th.
