#1-Published in the Blair Courier November 28, 1891

Again the invader Death has entered our city taking away this time, Mrs. Millie Cole, the wife of N. W. Cole. Mrs. Cole was born Nov. 30, 1867, in Berry County, Michigan. She was one of two children born to Mr. and Mrs. Silas Foster. In 1886 she was married to Mr. N. W. Cole. About the year 1871 they moved to Blair where they have since lived.

She has been complaining of ill health for several months. All was done for her that could possibly be done but to no purpose. On Thursday morning about 3:30 she heard the call of God and her spirit went home leaving a loving husband and sister, a tender father and mother, and an affectionate child of five years to mourn her loss, besides a host of friends.

The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved relatives. The funeral occurred at 2 o’clock yesterday in the Baptist church.

A woman beloved by all who knew her,
Now lamented by us all,

Oh how solemn is the warning,
Be ye ready for the call.
