COUPLE DIE ONLY TWO WEEKS APART

B. E. COLGAN, 69,DEAD AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Just two weeks from the death of his wife, B. E. Colgan, 69, died Saturday evening, creating the rare coincidence of two Blair couples dying closely together here within the past month. On March 18, John B. Carter, died while on March 21, Mrs. Carter passed away.

Mr. Colgan’s death came after a long illness which had kept him bedfast for the past three years. Brief funeral services were held Monday afternoon at three o’clock with Rev. Father O’Sullivan officiating in the absence of Rev. George Jonaitis, pastor of the Blair Catholic Church. Burial was made in the local cemetery.

Born in Ohio, Mr. Colgan moved to Illinois at an early age and was married in 1888. With his family he moved to Thompson, Mo., in 1905 and in 1915 to Herman. The Colgans came to Blair three years ago.

Surviving Mr. Colgan are seven children. They are George and Frank of Blair, Mrs. Rose Vaughn and Tim Colgan of Tekamah, Mrs. Maye Titterton, Marshall, Mo., Thomas Colgan, Wyoming, Ill., and Walter Colgan of Princeton, Ill. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren.
