SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR OPAL COLGAN

Services were held Saturday, June 11, at United Methodist Church in Tekamah for Mrs. Opal Colgan who died at Blair Thursday, June 9, 1977, after a lengthy illness. Reverend Clarence Campbell, who officiated, was assisted by Reverend William Whittaker of Herman. Interment was at Tekamah Cemetery.

Opal Dorcas Colgan was born September 10, 1905, in Decatur to Scott and Mary Elliott. She spent most of her life in the Decatur and Tekamah communities where she was employed until forced to retire because of ill health.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Arlene) Snow of Columbus, and Mrs. Leonard (Mary Catherine) Irvin of Omaha; one son, Denny Colgan of Herman, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three sisters, Ruth Smith of Decatur, Gertrude Carter of Stella, Missouri, and Helen McLaughlin of Bedford, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Joseph Colgan; her parents, one brother, Lawrence, and one sister Wilma Hennig.

Pallbearers were Jim Smith, Ed Smith, Robert Hennig, Erwin Henning, Norman Rogers and Charles Rogers.

Frank Korshoj, Charles McBride, Bob Frankhouser, Chester Spiker and Terry Carmichael served as honorary pallbearers.
