Geo. W. Bovee and relatives came in on the 2:48 train from Omaha last Sunday with the remains of James Bovee, who died in Council Bluffs Friday of pneumonia. James Bovee lived in South Omaha and had gone to Council Bluffs to care for his brother-in-law who is very sick with the same disease. Deceased was 68 years of age and had lived in and around Blair several years, leaving here about nine years ago.

He leaves to mourn his loss three sons, Geo. W. of Sioux City, John of Omaha, S.E. of Blair, and four daughters, Mrs. Mary Avery of South Omaha, Mrs. Susie Lewis of Omaha, and Mrs. Rosa Johnson and Mrs. Jane Avery of Colorado, who did not get here in time for the funeral; also two sisters, Mrs. Mary Adams of Council Bluffs and Mrs. D.M. Rhoades of Blair.

The funeral was held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Motter of Kennard officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Blair cemetery.

#2-23 Dec., 1903 - The Pilot

James Bovee of Council Bluffs was buried at the Blair cemetery last Sunday. His death was the result of an attack of pneumonia contracted in the Bluffs while attending his brother-in-law who at that time was suffering from the same disease. Mr. Bovee was a former resident of Blair, but some nine years ago moved from here and has been a resident of Omaha and Council Bluffs ever since. He had reached the ripe age of 68 years. The funeral was conducted from the Christian church. The many friends of Mr. Bovee join in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives. Mr. Bovee’s family consisted of three sons, George of Sioux City, Charles of Omaha and Sam of Blair and four daughters, Mrs. Mary Avery of South Omaha, Mrs. Susie Lewis of Omaha, Mrs. Rosa Johnson and Mrs. J. Avery of Colorado.
