FUNERAL AT 2 TOMORROW

W. Louis Stricklett passed away at 2:15 at his home on east State street yesterday noon, following an illness of over a year from a complication of diseases that baffled the skill of several physicians. His condition became critical last Wednesday and he slowly failed until the end came.

The funeral will be held at the Christian church of which he was a member, at 2 o’clock tomorrow, Thursday, Reverend W.B.F. Robb officiating.

Deceased was born in Louisville, Ky., December 15, 1857, so was almost 70 years of age, his funeral being held on his birthday. He was a son of Jas. And Catherine Stricklett, the 2nd of a family of twelve children. He came to Nebraska with his parents in 1866, before Blair was born, settling on a farm just southwest of where Blair is now located. There he grew to manhood and on May 4th, 1884, was united in marriage to Miss Elsie Allen in this city. They settled on a farm in DeSoto township where their family of eight children were born, all but Ethel living to grow up. She died at the age of 11 months. About twelve years ago they moved to this city.

Bessie, Mrs. Frank Bellows, lives at Walthill; Walter lives here; Lyle lives near Parkston, S.D.; and Guy near Dimmock, South Dakota; Kate, Mrs. Herman Ladwig, Frank II, and Cora, Mrs. John Gilliam, all live in Blair. He leaves one sister, Miss Cora Stricklett and 2 brothers, Ed and Orin, also of Blair. There are 21 grandchildren.

Mr. Stricklett was a quiet, home loving man, honest and industrious, the qualities that make for good friendship and good citizenship. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, who extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
