Mrs. Mary Stricklett died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Campbell, a midnight last night of Bright’s disease, following an illness of about two years. Mary Pennington was born in Louisville, Ky., april 26th, 1844, so would have been 79 years of age had she lived until April 26th of this year. She was married there to John Stricklett and came to this county long before Blair was born in 1869. Mr. Stricklett died eight years ago last November. She is survived by six sons and four daughters. The sons are Peter, Chas., J.P., John, George and Frank. The daughters, Mrs. Frank Hineline of DeSoto; Mrs. Laura Cleaver of Iowa; Mrs. Mattie Jensen and Mrs. Bert Campbell of this city. Also three sisters, Mrs. Jas. Lewis; Mrs. John Cooper, Mrs. Greeno and one brother, G. W. Pennington of Grand Island. The arrangements for the funeral have not been made as we go to press.

AGED LADY PASSES AWAY ON WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Mary J. Stricklett died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Campbell, in the north part of town at 12:10 Wednesday morning, Feb. 28, aged nearly 80 years.

Six weeks ago Mrs. Stricklett fell and broke her shoulder and was not strong enough to make a recovery. She had been a resident of Blair for a number of years and had been making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Campbell. Mrs. Stricklett was the mother of thirteen children, nine of whom are living. They are Mrs. Ora Cleaver of Missouri Valley; Mrs. Frank Hineline, DeSoto; John Stricklett, Kennard; Peter, Charles, and Frank Stricklett, Mrs. Bert Campbell, Mrs. Mattie Jensen, all of Blair; and George Stricklett of Emerson. One brother, George Pennington of Grand Island, and one sister, Mrs. Frances Cooper of Blair and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive her.
