Former Blair resident Nellie R. Stricklett, 74 of Fremont, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at the First Baptist Church in Fremont. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation began Monday, but will also be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Nellie Rose “Sue” (Jones) Stricklett was born May 5, 1932 in Herman to Orvil Porter and Cora Ellen (Rounds) Jones. She was raised in the Blair area and graduated from Blair High School.

On Nov. 6, 1948, she married Raymond L. Stricklett in Blair.

She lived in Waterloo for more than 20 years, where she worked at Publication Printing Co. as a bindery supervisor. She moved to Fremont in 1993 and was a member of Fremont’s First Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Chris Stricklett of Brighton, Colo.; Danny Stricklett of Fremont; and Randy and Peggy Stricklett of Omaha; three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Al Zinn of Fremont; Angela Stricklett of Omaha; and Grace Price of Fremont; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nadine Jones of Brookings, S.D.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Elsie Moore of Blair; Lindora Hoke of Lebanon, Mo.; and Lenora and Carl Schrat of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1993; her parents; a son, Blaine Stricklett; three brothers and two sisters.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Fremont.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral First Baptist Church Tues, 10:30 a.m. Visitation Mon, 2-9 pm, Family receiving friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Mosers. Burial Blair Cemetery.
