CARL BRATT PASSES AFTER THREE MONTHS OF ILLNESS

Carl Bratt passed away at his home north of Blair Sunday, September 30, aged 58 years, 7 months and 1 day.

The subject of this sketch was born in Sweden, February 28, 1865, and came to America thirty years ago, settling at that time on a farm in Washington county. He came of a sturdy race of men whose ambition is to reach financial success by hard labor. He had followed his chosen vocation of farming all these years and had accumulated a reasonable amount of this world’s goods.

On June 20, of the present year, he was in an automobile accident which was the cause of his death. At that time he received a severe fracture of the spine which had refused to respond to treatment, and finally death relieved him of his suffering. Mr. Bratt was twice married, his first wife preceding him in death a number of years ago. His second wife and a number of children survive him.

The body was taken to Kennard Tuesday afternoon where the funeral was held at the Methodist church, Rev. Rasmussen of the Danish church having charge of the obsequies, and interment was made in the family lot in the Kennard cemetery.
