Virgie Marie Anderson, 80

Virgie Marie Anderson, 80, died on Dec. 21, 1988, at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital.

Virgie was born on Feb. 21, 1908, in Oakland, NE as the daughter of Gust and Julia (Hansen) Engdahl. Virgie graduated from Uehling High School. She was united in marriage to Maynard Anderson on Feb. 27, 1930.

Virgie taught school in the Arlington School District. Virgie and Maynard settled in Blair in 1954, moving from Lincoln.

Virgie Anderson was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Blair and a past member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Maynard, Alan and Dennis.

She is survived by her husband, Maynard of Blair; her six daughters, Lorraine Patterson of Bloomington, MN, Caoloee Neuman of Arlington, TX, Lois Harrer of Omaha, Deanna Freitag of Fremont, Mary Bargren of Cherry Valley, IL, and Lynn Clark of Council Bluffs, IA. She is also survived by her five sons, John of Bloomington, Robert of Vicksburg, Miss., Bill of Hannibal, MO, Joseph of Blair, and Edward of Oakland, NE. Virgie is survived by 39 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Virgie Anderson will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Blair at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23. The Rev. James McBride will officiate.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Campbell Funeral Home in Blair.
