Services Were Saturday For William Sprick

Services were held Saturday, December 10, 1977, at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist church in Fremont for William G. Sprick, a former resident of the Herman area, who died Wednesday, December 7, 1977, in a Grand Island Nebraska Hospital. Dr. Laurence R. Davis officiated at the services. Interment was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

A special Masonic service was also held for him before his burial.

William G. Sprick was born February 24, 1898, near Herman, Nebraska, to Paul and Minnie (Meierhenry) Sprick. He married Emma Eriksen February 4, 1920, in Blair and farmed near Herman until 1946 at which time he moved to Fremont, Nebraska. He moved to Grand Island, Nebraska, in 1975, and was residing in a nursing home there at the time of his death.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont, Masonic Lodge No. 15, AF & AM, Fremont, and the Order of Eastern Star.

One brother, Fred Sprick, and his parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his widow, Emma; one son, William L. Sprick, Peoria, Illinois; and one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Darline) Janzen, Grand Island. One sister, Mrs. Harold (Emma) Smith, Fort Collins, Colorado; one brother, Paul Sprick, Fremont; and three grandchildren also survive him.

Pallbearers for the services were J. Russell Anderson, Richard Y. Harrison, W. Dale Page, Arnold F. Mains, Floyd R. McKenzie, and Henry C. Meador.

Apfel-Butler-Geddis Funeral Home, Grand Island, was in charge of arrangements for the services.
