John J. Overman died January 27 at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha.

He was born August 17, 1912, in Atchison, Kansas, to John G. and Helene (Brummer) Overman.

He operated Overman Furniture and Upholstery Company in the Omaha suburb of Benson until ill helath forced his retirement in 1977.

He and his wife Margaret moved to Lakeland Estates from Omaha in 1974.

Overman was a World War II veteran, a member of the Blair American Legion and the Louis and Black VFW Post in Omaha.

He is survived by wife Margaret Coines Peterson Overman, Blair, and many nieces and nephews.

Overman was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Blair. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at Campbell Funeral Home, Blair.

Pallbearers will be Jim Foley; Frank Farka; Paul Gakle; Dennis Madigan; Tom Boyd, and John Bohrer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Hagen; Fred Haley; Jack Madigan; Don Brayton; Ernie Ellis; Jack Worm, and Fred Bartholet.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
