William Kramer

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church here Sunday at two o’clock for Wm. Kramer, aged 76, who died at the family home here Thursday afternoon, following a few days illness with pneumonia. Rev. C. C. Norlin conducted the services and interment was made in the Herman cemetery. Deceased was a resident of this vicinity for many years. He lived on a farm west of here for a number of years but retired several years ago and moved to Herman where he has since resided. Mr. Kramer is survived by his wife, two sons, Walter and Alfred, both of Herman; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Ziehr of David City, Nebr. and Mrs. Edwin Blomberg of Omaha. Mr. Kramer was a man of high character and in his passing the community loses a good citizen, respected and well like by all who came in contact with him. The family have our deepest sympathy in their great sorrow.

William Kramer Was County Resident Forty Five Years

William L. Kramer died at his home near Herman on December 27, after an illness of pneumonia of but a few days’ duration. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from the Herman Methodist church with Rev. C.. C. Norlin officiating, after which interment was made in Herman cemetery.

The deceased was born in Germany August 1, 1853, and came to America in 1873, locating in the state of Wisconsin. In 1879 he came to Nebraska in a prairie schooner and homesteaded in Furnas county, and the following September he moved to Washington county. In 1889 he was united in marriage to Miss Rosa Koepke of Wisconsin, and to this union four children were born, all of who survive him. Forty five years of the life of the deceased were spent in Nebraska, most of the time in Washington county where he was known as a successful farmer and a respected citizen.

Surviving him are his bereaved wife, two sons, Alfred and Walter, both of Herman; two daughters, Mrs. Clare Ziehr of David City and Mrs. Lillian Blomberg, Omaha and a brother, Charles of Bancroft.
