August Krause

August Krause, veteran of three European wars, father of twelve children and grandfather of forty children, died Friday morning at St. Catherine’s hospital in Omaha at the age of 74 years. He had been under the care of his daughter, Miss Martha Krause, an Omaha nurse, for nearly a year. Mr. Krause came to America in 1872, soon after the Franco-Prussian war, in which he fought. He also fought in the Danish war of 1864 and the Austrian war of 1866, moving to Herman, Nebraska. He has four children living in Omaha, Mrs. Thomas Johansen, 1317 North Thirty-fifth street; Mrs. Frank C. Bell, Mrs. Curtiss Edwards and Miss Martha Krause. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Herman.
