Former Countian Dies Of Burns

Daniel Kelly, 84, Former Garryowen Man, Found Dying In Omaha

Funeral services for Daniel F. Kelly, 84, former resident of the Garryowen neighborhood in southeastern, Washington county, who was fatally burned last Tuesday night at his home in Omaha, were held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Philip Neri Catholic church in Florence. Burial followed in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Mr. Kelly was found critically burned in his home, 7706 north 31st street, by his son. He died in a hospital an hour later. It is believed he suffered a stroke while smoking, or that he fell against a stove while smoking.

Surviving Mr. Kelly are two sons, Leo and C. B.; a brother, Timothy Kelly; a sister, Mrs. James Shinnick; two grandchildren. A brother, Michael Kelly, died last year.
