Mrs. Peter Ruden Is Dead At Herman

Native of Sweden She Had Resided 56 Years In Herman Vicinity

Mrs. Martha Ruden, 87, widow of Peter Ruden of Herman, and a resident of the vicinity southwest of Herman for 56 years, died at her home Friday.

As Martha Olson, she was born February 12, 1852, in Sweden. She and Mr. Ruden were married there, and Mr. Ruden came to America in 1881, and sent for his wife two years later. They moved to a farm near Herman, where they remained.

Mr. Ruden died February 28, 1938, at the age of 88 years.

There are no known survivors to Mrs. Ruden. Funeral services, in charge of the Rev. A. W. Clarke, Herman Methodist minister, were held Sunday afternoon, interment following in Rose Hill cemetery.

MARTHA RUDIN RITES SUNDAY

Mrs. Martha Rudin was born in Sweden at Omot Charlottenburg, Ternskojverland February 12, 1852, and died April 21 at the farm home hear Herman, aged 87 years, 2 months and 9 days. She was married to Peter Rudin December 27, 1879 shortly after they came to this country. They had no children.

The husband died February 28 1938. Mrs. Rudin was an honorable and industrious homemaker. She is survived by a few distant relatives in America and a number in her homeland.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Rose Hill Methodist church, conducted by Rev. A. W. Clarke. A male quartette composed of Fred Robertson, C. R. Gray, Francis Forsberg and L. D. Long sang, with Mrs. G. F. Lowe at the piano.

Interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
