LESLIE BUCKLIN, 82

Leslie Bucklin, 82, of Blair, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

Visitation will start at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Leslie “Buck” Bucklin was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Blair to Leslie and Adella (Jorgensen) Bucklin. While attending Blair schools, he worked at the Safeway grocery store. After graduating, he moved to California for one year and continued working for Safeway. He returned to Blair and became a bookkeeper for Washington County Motors until he retired in 1990 after 42 years of service.

On June 12, 1966, he married Shirley (Shoman) Stodola in Blair, where they lived for the remainder of their lives. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Blair. Most of his off-time was dedicated to his family, watching his children and grandchildren play ball and attending their school-related activities. He was an avid Husker and Cubs fan and enjoyed going to the casino.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jeff Lauritsen of Kennard, Sherry and Jesse Robinson of Valley, and Merri and Bob Hightree of Blair; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Susan Stodola of Fillmore, Ind., Terry and Jan Stodola of Blair, and Steve and Carolyn Stodola of Blair; 10 granddaughters; two step-grandsons, two step-granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dottie Bucklin of Arizona; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; a sister, Joyce; brothers, Leroy, Rolland, Paul; and an infant granddaughter.

VISITATION starts 3 pm Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6 – 8 pm.
