Gertrude Krauth, 91

Former Springfield resident Gertrude Krauth, 91, a resident at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, died Dec. 23, 2005.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Springfield. Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary in Papillion.

Gertrude Krauth was born Feb. 4, 1914, in Papillion to Hugo and Ida (Becker) Cordes. Mrs. Krauth was a past president and charter member of the South Omaha Eagles No. 154, and was past president of the Nebraska State Eagles. She worked for 10 years in a grocery store, two years at the bomber plant and owned Freddie’s Tavern in Springfield for six years.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Carol Schutz of Fort Calhoun, daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jerry Partridge of Miles City, Mont., and a step-son and wife, Gary and Sandra Krauth of Prescott, Iowa; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren’ 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Iske of Springfields.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fredrick Schutz and Leo Krauth; step-grandson, Scott Krauth; step-great-grandson, Josh Foster; three brothers and six sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Springfields.
