FORMER COUNTIAN DIES IN ILLINOIS

MRS. PETER KESSLER, BLAIR NATIVE, DIES IN FREEBURG, ILLINOIS

Word was received in Blair this week of the death of Mrs. Peter Kessler, 68, former countian, at her home in Freeburg, Illinois, Saturday.

As Bertha Borup, she was born in Blair, and attended the city schools here. In 1896 she was married to Peter Kessler here, and they moved from this vicinity a year later.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Reiniger, three sons, Walter, Leo and Fred, and six grandchildren, all of Freeburg; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Hugelman of Herman and Mrs. George Huber of Irvington; a brother-in-law, Joseph Novak of near Blair; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Tuesday at Freeburg in the Lutheran church, with burial in the Freeburg cemetery. Mrs. Kessler had visited in Blair often since moving from here.
