Jerry G. Zeigler, 71

Jerry G. Zeigler passed away at the age of 71 at Golden Living Center in Tekamah on June 26.

Jerry was born August 30, 1943, in Geneva, NE, to Harold and Leota (Gibson) Zeigler. He joined the U.S. Air Force right out of high school and served four years. Jerry married Phoebe Genoways on May 1, 1976. On April 1, 1980, he started his own tool and cutter grinding business, A-Z Tool Grinding. He was a master at his trade. He won many awards and had many fellow tradesmen and friends look to him for advice on different things. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping or mushroom hunting. He also loved his rides in his Corvette and visiting with friends. He loved to dance and was always the life of the party.

Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Claude (Butch) Zeigler, parents Harold and Leota Zeigler, and best friend (brother) Larry Killingsworth.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Phoebe Zeigler; children: Jason (Jennifer) Rosenbaum, Jeremy (Beth) Zeigler, and Stephanie (Brad) Batenhorst; and grandchildren: Xachary Zeigler, Paxton Rosenbaum, Riley Batenhorst, Bailey Batenhorst, and Nathan Zeigler.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the nurses and aides at the Golden Living Center for the exceptional care that Jerry received.

If anyone would like to make donations in Jerry's name, please give to Methodist Children's Hospital in Omaha:

He was always saddened by children fighting cancer and always donated himself.

There will be no funeral service, just an immediate family gathering to honor the man they loved very much.
