Patricia A. Metzler 1993 -2015

Patricia “Pat” Ann Metlzer was born March 4, 1933 in Waterloo, Nebraska to John and Selma (Rosenbaum) Allison. She passed away May 21, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Tekamah, Nebraska at the age of 82 years.

In 1950 Pat graduated from Tekamah High School. On March 24, 1951, Pat was united in marriage to George Darold Metzler, in Blair, Nebraska. They lived in both Blair and Omaha, Nebraska through their first years of marriage. They began living on a farm between Tekamah and Decatur, Nebraska around 1955. She babysat Adam, Margaret, Katie, Eli and Artie Goll for several years; she loved the like her own Grandkids and enjoyed watching them grow up.

On May 21, 1998, George passed away, after 47 years of marriage. Pat continued to live on the farm until 2011, when she moved to Maple Villa in Decatur. She resided there next to her former neighbor in the country, Phyllis Smith.

In February of 2015 Pat moved to the Golden Living Center. While there, she loved to play bingo, and participate in a variety of activities. Pat also loved crossword puzzles, cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles and reading. Family was most important to Pat, and one of the things she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Janelle Metzler; brother, Derald D. Allison.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Peggy) Metzler of Decatur, Pam (Jim) Beck of Tekamah, Becky (Scott) Luebbe of West Point, NE; Grandchildren, Travis (Brenda) Metzler of Farnam, NE, Stephani Schultz of Arlington, NE, Brenda (David) Jones of Sioux City, IA, Tabitha (Chris) Koch of Parma, OH, Jennifer (Kyle) Ratkovec of Rocky Mount, NC, Kayla Luebbe of Elkhorn, NE, Brett (Molly) Luebbe of Crofton, NE; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah.

Visitation: Monday, 5-7 p.m. with family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
