BLAIR WOMAN’S BROTHER DIES IN COLORADO

Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, at First United Methodist Church in Greeley, Colorado, for Donald G. Allely, 50, who died March 11, 1983, at North Colorado Medical Center following an accident. Burial was in Linn Grave Cemetery at Greeley.

Donald G. Allely was born March 30, 1932, at McCook, Nebraska, to George and Elyda (Kennedy) Allely. He graduated from Tekamah High School in 1950 where he was an Eagle Scout.

He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1954 and from the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1957. He served his internship at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha for one year, joining the medical staff of North Colorado Medical Center in 1958. He was an Associate Professor of NCMC Residency Program Family Practice Residency, of which he was a founding director.

He was a charter member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Colorado Chapter President of the Academy of Family Practice from 1967-68. He was a Diplomate of the American Academy of Family Practice from 1971 to the present, a member of the Colorado Century Club of Family Practice and the Medical Association. He was active in the Colorado Medical Society and was Associate Clinical Professor for the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He also served many years as Greeley High School’s athletic team physician.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greeley. He was also a member of Tekamah Lodge No. 31 AF & AM, Tekamah. He was elected to the Nebraska Wesleyan Hall of Fame in 1979.

He married Joyce Johnson of Tekamah, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Genevieve Allely of Tekamah.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Greeley; two daughters, Rebecca Jane and Magdalene Marie, both of Greeley; and four sons, Kimberly Scott of Anchorage, Alaska; Eric Bruce of Denver; Craig Martin Johnson of Colorado Springs and Zachary George of Greeley. His parents, Dr. and Mrs. George F. Allely of Tekamah; a brother, Dr. John Allely of Fremont; a sister, Mrs. Carole Bagby of Blair; and several aunts and uncles also survive him.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Donald G. Allely, M.D., Academic Athletic Scholarship Fund in care of Macy Allnutt Mortuary which was in charge of arrangements.
