Anita K. Nelson, 92

Anita K. Nelson, age 92, of Fremont, NE, formerly of Arlington, NE, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Hooper Care Center in Hooper, Nebraska.

Anita was born July 27, 1922, in Creighton, NE, to Adolph and Mary (Waterman) Holtman. Anita's family moved to Fontanelle, NE, when she was a child. She graduated from Nickerson High School. Anita married Earl W. Nelson December 19, 1948, at Fontanelle. After their marriage, they came to Fremont for a year prior to moving to Arlington, NE. She was a telephone operator for 15 years and employee of the Washington County Fair Board for 25 years. Earl died May 6, 1992.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle and the Bible study group at church. She was also a member of VFW Post #8332 Auxiliary & American Legion Post #71 Auxiliary, both of Arlington and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 Auxiliary of Fremont.

Anita is survived by sister-in-law Joanne Holtman of Fremont and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Nelson; and brother, Richard Holtman.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle, NE. The Rev. Bob Hayden will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 10:30 AM at the church on Thursday. The family prefers memorials be given to Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle, c/o Pam Mellegaard, 12338 W. 128 Terrace, Overland Park, KS 66213.

Burial will be at Fontanelle Cemetery, Fontanelle, NE.
