Mary Ann Paine, 68

Mary Ann Paine, 68, of Blair, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Hospice House in Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m., and a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Mary Ann Ferzley was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Omaha to Leo J. and Anna (LaMontia) Ferzley.

She graduated from Omaha Central High School in Omaha and attended Clarkson Nursing School.

She worked for Dr. Phillip Maschka's dental office in Omaha.

After her marriage to Everett Paine on April 27, 1973, the couple moved to Blair, where she worked for Dr. Ivan Karpisek's dental office and later, the Washington County Assessor's Office.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed on March 23, 1975.

She was also a member of the Blair Fireman's Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, watching baseball games, doing crossword puzzles, and keeping up with her three granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Steve Kunzman of Grand Island; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Trish Story of Omaha; three granddaughters; and brother, Leo J. Ferzley Jr. of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mary Ann Paine was given the gift of life, born September 9, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska to Leo J. and Anna (Lamontia) Ferzley. She was given the gift of new life with God through Holy Baptism on March 23, 1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blair, Nebraska. She was confirmed in the faith at the same time.

Mary Ann graduated from Omaha Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Clarkson Nursing School.

She was married to Everett Paine on April 27, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Their marriage was blessed with two children, a son, Mike and a daughter, Colleen.

Mary Ann worked for Dr. Phillip Maschka's dental office in Omaha, NE, and Dr. Ivan Karpisek's dental office in Blair, NE. Later she worked for the Washington County Assessor's Office.

Mary Ann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since March of 1975.

She was also a member of the Blair Fireman's Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, watching baseball games, doing crossword puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed keeping up with her three granddaughters. She was a great cook, and especially enjoyed cooking Italian foods.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Steve Kunzman of Grand Island, NE; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Trish Story of Omaha; three granddaughters, Gabriella, Courtney, and Mackenzie Kunzman; and brother, Leo J. Ferzley Jr. of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mary Ann Paine joined the church in heaven, having departed this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Hospice House in Omaha. She will be laid to rest in the Blair Cemetery, Blair, Nebraska, there to await the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
