Struve, Alma Christina 7/21/1924

Obituary printed in the July 23, 1924 Tribune, Blair, Nebraska

The entire community was grieved to hear the sad news of the death of Miss Alma Struve, on Monday morning, July 21st. She has been among our midst so long, and was so much a part of our lives that we can scarcely realize that she has passed to the great beyond. Alma Christina was born October 2, 1885 at Blair. She was brought up and educated in Blair and lived here her entire life. After school days she accepted a position in the P.Z. Department store and clerked there for twenty-one years. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone and we all grew to love this soul of highest womanhood very dearly. Since January 5, over seven months ago, she had been failing fast. At first she was taken to the Clarkson hospital in Omaha, then later to St. Joseph Hospital and after no hope of recovery was left, on May 10, she was brought back to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Struve, of this city, where she lingered until Monday morning at 10:10. She was 38 years, 9 months and 19 days old and leaves besides her father and mother five sisters and one brother, all of whom live to mourn her departure. They are Mrs. Ludwig Soll, of Scribner, Mrs. Peter Stock, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Clifford Krause, Kathryn and Grace Struve, all of this city and Mr. Otto Struve of Fremont. Also an uncle, Mr. Otto Busche of this city. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the M. E. church, the Rev. O.U. McProud officiating. The deepest sympathy goes out to the parents and loved ones, and a deep regret fills our hearts that we have lost one so dear to us all.
