Carolyn M. Stuart, 88

Private graveside services for former Council Bluffs resident, Carolyn M. Stuart, 88, of Blair, were held Saturday, Aug. 25, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Pastor Will Reger of the First Congregational Church of Council Bluffs officiating. Mrs. Stuart died Aug. 22, 2001, at Shepherd’s Village in Blair.

Carolyn Stuart was born Aug. 1, 1913 in Council Bluffs to Carl L. and Bertha M. (Kissel) Madsen.

She was a 1931 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She was a homemaker, and a member of P.E.O., the First Congregational Church of Council Bluffs, and was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James P. Ryan of Blair, three grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and a sister-in-law, Ethel Stuart of Council Bluffs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Stuart.

Memorials are suggested to the First Congregational Church, the Arthritis Foundation, or to the donor’s choice.

Cutler Funeral Home in Council Bluffs was in charge of arrangements.
