Harry Andreasen, 96

Harry Andreasen, 96, of Blair, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Carter House in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Harry Andreasen was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Kennard to Fritz and Della (Kempcke) Andreasen.

He attended March School District #31, where he also served, later in life, as a school board member.

In December of 1937, he married Margaret Schumacher. She died in 1980. On June 12, 1981, he married Hattie Cameron Schumacher.

Mr. Andreasen was always known to be a very hard worker and loved farming and working with livestock. He broke horses with his father when he was a young man worked for several area farmers. He also spent time working for Campbell's Soup Company. He enjoyed the farm and working with livestock. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his family and all of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie, of Blair; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Betty Andreasen of Blair, and Steve and Robin Andreasen of Kennard; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Yeager of Hooper; step-daughter, Sandra Carmichael; daughter-in-law, Joyce Rohrberg; sons-in-law, Don Short and John Herman; 17 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Bob Andreasen of Fremont and Jim Andreasen of Kennard; sister, Arlene Petersen of Blair.

In addition to his first wife, Margaret, he was preceded in death by his son, Stanley; daughters, Karen, Roxanne and Kyle; sisters Velma Sauers and Elaine Gosker; and a brother, Howard Andreasen.
