Greta Marie (Dein) Fagerquist, 83

Greta Marie (Dein) Fagerquist, 83, of Buckley, Washington, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015.

Greta was born in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska on May 31, 1932. She grew up in Arlington, Nebraska, graduating from Arlington High School. She continued on to receive a teaching certificate from Wayne State. She starting teaching at the age of 17 and taught in a one room schoolhouse for several years. In 1950 she married Gene Fagerquist and in 1957, Gene and Greta moved, with two small children, to Seattle and eventually to Enumclaw, Washington. Greta worked as a medical receptionist for Enumclaw Medical Center for twenty years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling. She was actively involved as a member of the Osceola Community Club and volunteered for the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a sewing and horse 4-H club leader for many years.

Greta is survived by Gene, her husband of 64 years; four children: Michael Fagerquist, Barbara Hammond, Susan Steinmetz and Mary Ann Mason; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as sisters Joan Scheer, Jean Tiedje, Mary Krueger and brother Carl Dein. Greta is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Myrtle Dein and brother, Dave Dein. Memorial may be made to: The Alzheimer's Association.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Enumclaw, Washington.
