SERVICES FOR KARLEEN OHRT HELD SATURDAY

Published in Pilot Tribune on 18 August 1980

Funeral services were held at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church last Saturday afternoon for Karleen Ruth Munro Ohrt, 65, who passed away on August 14th at Blair Hospital, after several months' illness. Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, with burial at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. A prayer service was held on Friday evening at the funeral home. Reverend William Mulford officiated at both services.

Pallbearers were John LaBorde, Robert Frahm, Harold Schneemeyer, Howard Barnes, Ronald Trauthen, and Ronald McFarlin.

Karleen Ruth Munro was born on June 5, 1915, to Clarence and Rosa Munro in Jackson, Michigan. On April 19, 1941, she was married to Walter Ohrt, and the couple lived their entire life on a farm near Fort Calhoun (Route 2, Omaha). Her husband survives her, as do a son Calvin, of Route 2, Omaha; a daughter, Mrs. Rodney (Cheryl) Mayo of Omaha; a brother, Jack H. Munro, of Naples, Florida; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maxine.

Mrs. Ohrt was active in her church, the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, where she was also a member of the Mariners. She was a member of Naomi Chapter 121 of the Eastern Star for over 38 years, 19 years of which she was Secretary. She also served as a rural mail carrier out of Omaha for over 13 years, a position from which she retired in June.

(Her death date is listed as 8/4/1980 in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery records, but the newspaper says 8/14/1980.)
