The funeral for Joseph R. Cook, 72, of Arlington, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington.

He died Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at his home.

Cook was born Aug. 25, 1925 in Arlington. He was a 1942 graduate of Arlington High School. He was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad as an electronic equipment installer from 1949 until his retirement in 1988. He lived at Wall Lake, Iowa, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, until returning to Arlington in 1989. He married Audrey Hobza in 1947. She died in 1988. He married Kathrine Cutchall in 1989.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington; and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 of Fremont.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Judith (Mrs. Lynn) Forcade of Omaha, Catherine (Mrs. Darrel) Potts of Kennard, and Jennifer Cook of Harrisburg, Pa.; two sister, Mabel Scheer of Colorado, and Norman Wolles of Mission, Texas; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers.

The Rev. Michael L. Rogers will officiate Saturday’s service. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to time of service Saturday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

He lived at Wall Lake, Iowa and Council Bluffs, Iowa until returning to Arlington in 1989. He married Audrey Mae Hobza in 1947. He married Kathrine Rosenkilde Cutchall in 1989.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 of Fremont.

Survivors are his wife, Katherine; three daughter and sons-in-law, Judith and Lynn Forcade of Omaha; Catherine and Darrel Potts of Kennard and Jennifer Cook of Harrisburg, Penn.; two sisters, Mabel Scheer of Colorado and Norma Wolles of Mission Tex.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; his first wife, Audrey in 1988; and brothers, Lawrence Cook, Raymond Cook and William Cook.

Pallbearers will be David Cook, Howard Cook, Milford Sindelar, Don Hobza, David Kollars, Jerry Story and David Platt.
